Tire pressure

Why do most guys run a lower DD tire pressure than what the suggested manufacturer recommends? I have 37's on my Avalanche (getting a Jeep in the next few months) and I was told to run a higher pressure on my BFG AT's.

Tire Pressure

I have BFG's Mudterrain T/A' KM2s. When I got them they were filled to 65 PSI. I wondered why everything was bumpy during my DD driving. After reading the Jeep Forum (do a search for tire pressure), you will find just about everyone has brought them to around 32PSI for DD and around 18PSI when airing down off-road. One guy on the forum has the exact tires I have and said he has had them at 32PSI and got 50,000 miles out of them. I took his advise, aired down to 32 for normal DD driving. What a difference. Much smoother ride.

I'm on my second set but the first set I got about 50k-55k out of them running them at 40. Maybe it's the vehicle. Good to know for when I get the Jeep though. Learning every day in here.
