I recently tried Armor All foam. Worked out okay and didn't notice any sling but I didn't drive immediately after application. My ideal tire product would result in a dark, matte finish... not shiny or greasy looking. I'm still looking for that.
I'm not a fan of the shiny look for tires. Is there a product that makes the tires nice and black, but not shiny, if that makes sense? Ya know, so they aren't that brownish color they can get?
Don't know if it's still around, but Dodo used to make a product called Tyromania. Basically a black wax for your tires that was totally matte. Wouldn't be fun to use on large Jeep tires though, it came in a small tub with a foam applicator pad.
I don't shine my jeep tires but on my other cars, I use meguiar's endurance tire *gel* with sponge applicator. works great. lasts a long time and through water.
Thats what I used to remove the brownish look on my 37's when I had a Rubicon. I have used it once on my Grand Cherokee. Shiny tires on a Wrangler looks stupid IMO.
Gel, always use gel , lasts longer and won't fling and alot more control than spray, over spray sucks!! Also take wheel cleaner , spray it on n leave it, doesn't let dust attach to it. Leather conditioner lasts long too. But always remember to clean and scrub tires first, bleech-white is good.
Other good tricks for detailing vehicles are, newspaper n glass cleaner will leave the best results u will ever see!! AND NO THE INK WON'T BLEED, IT'S FALSE!!
WD40 good for scratches and detail engine bay, especially on rubberhoses, wont turn em brown like other detail conditioners. Also WD40 , use it on ALL yr electronic components under hood after getting deep in water. WD40 will dissolve all water! That's what it was originally made for, water dissolve able 40 the element
Armor all Extreme gel. I've been using this stuff for a few years and it holds up for a couple of weeks. It's a decent product with pretty good results and very little sling.
I use Surf City Garage professional line tire shine along with a foam applicator. Apply around tire with the applicator then buff with a microfiber to your heart's content. Be sure to clean your tires as well, not just spray with a pressure washer and soap. A good wheel cleaner should work just fine. The longest I've had it last was my truck and it was right around 4 weeks.
I use(d) Black magic Tire Wet. I also sprayed it on the inner liners and frame to make it shine like new as well. Wiped it down off the tires, and never had it sling on the paint.
Tires would turn brown after mudding, but I would simply pressure wash them off, and back to black they went.
I use Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer or something like that and blow my interior out with the air compressor after wheeling. Works pretty well. I do admit I use Armor All on the rear cargo tray.
