If you're keeping the stock wheels, you may need different wheels or at least wheel spacers for even 32" tires. Not really sure.
However, 32" is the stock Rubicon and Sahara size. Therefore, the smartest play to get bigger tires cheaply is to look on Craigslist and Ebay to find a set of Rubi or (less desirable) Sahara tire/wheel pull offs. Folks are always dumping them (and often for cheap and in new condition) when they add tires/wheels/lifts.
, if you are going to do any real offroading (everyone's interpretation of offroading varies greatly). I currently run 33" under mine ('12 JKU) stock and have zero issues with rubbing, etc. Although I do plan on installing lift later this year, I have not experienced any issues while on trails. I will most likely have issues once I get into anything involving rock crawling or transitioning between steep angles, so it depends on your use.
Also, I agree completely on checking for new wheels on Craigslist-that's where I sold mine w/i 20 min of posting add
