Tire Size debacle. Looking for some pics.

So, 2013 Sport here. 3.21's. Stock 225/75/16's.

I'd like to, when the piddly little tires are worn out, replace them with something larger. Mainly for look, partially for function. I do take my Jeep off-road for family outings and hunting. However, this jeep is my DD, and I do not intend to make it a trail rig. Some weekend fun is the most this JK will see. Not because I'm not into that (because hell yes, i am), but because the practical adult inside me realizes that this this has to get me 80 miles a day to/from work, and i'm done with the stressed-out dual-purpose wheeler/commuter rig.

Anyway, these tires are somewhere between a 29 and a 30. They are boring, and they dont fill in the wheel openings.

So my plan was to go with a 31 or 32. The problem is that gear ratio. I dont want to underpower my jeep, but I dont want to be trapped in these tiny tires.

So, i have two questions.

1. how big have others gone on the 3.21's and not hated their performance afterwards? I've looked at the charts, and they make me feel like even the stock 29's are too much for the 3.21's. So going taller would make me sort of miserable.

2. I'd like pics of others who have gone with 30's and 31's without a lift.

Thanks!

You'd be fine with a set of 32's. I ran rubi take offs when I had my '10 with 3.21 and it was fine so it'd be better with the 3.6.

Did you notice a big hit in fuel economy? I know expecting fuel efficiency out of a JK is sort of silly, but I get almost 20mpg now, and i'd hate to screw that up.

Thanks!

I don't recall on the '10 but on my '12 I was getting around 20 with the sport S tires when I had 3.21. I don't remember what those were called but they are one step up from the base mailman tires. They were about the same size as the rubi km take offs.

I have a 2012 JKU with the 3.21 gears and 255/70/18 stock wheels and it's fine. I have the manual transmission. My mileage has been about 20 over the winter.
