tire sizes ?

The stock tire is 275/55R17, the tires on the rubicon in the show room said the same size but appeared much beefier. The rubicon had a three inch lift and the tire size still looked right.

The stock tire is approximately a 29" to 30" tire. Supposedly a two inch lift is appropriate for 33" tires.

What sizes of tire can go on the stock rims?

you can fit up to 35" tires on the stock rims, but you will need proper wheel back-spacing or wheel spacers AND at least a 2.5 inch suspension lift, depending on your offroad use. Show rooms always esthetically ramp the Jeep up for sales purposes.

Is the number wrong? Stock tires are 255/75/17 which are 32.1.

275/55/17 are only 28.9". I haven't seen these on Jeeps before

If we are talking about stock 255/75/17 then I would say aggressive tires always look bigger then the GY SRA's because of the wider lugs and the more square stance

285/70/17 are the largest you can put on without any mods and there may be a very slight rub in full turn

Our stock tyres are 245/75 17 Goodyear Wrangler AT's, which equals bout 31 1/2 inch. I have seen some Rubi's in the showroom with the Goodyear Wrangler MT (I think from memory) and they were a much chunkier tyre
