Tire width on the 08 JK

Anyone know the largest tire size you can put on the 08 JK without rubbing? I have the factory P255/75R17's on now which I think is equivalent to 32" tall x 10" wide by 7.5" rims

With the right back spacing on the rim or with wheel spacers you should be able to go 315 wide.. 12.5in,, and 33 in tall. The dealer where I bought mine had two with after market tires and rims on the lot, one with 305/70 17 (12x33) with no lift and one with 12.5 x35 with a 2in lift.

It is not recommended you go over 285 (11.25in) on a 7.5 in rims.. Although lots of people go wider than that with 7 or 7.5 in rims with no problems.

FWIW I picked up a set of the 255/75 17 Rubicon BFG MTs for mine on Ebay for 500 shipped(sets are redily available on Ebay all the time)........they have worked very well in the woods and the mud.are resonably quiet as well.......not really an answer to yer question but I found them an inexpensive upgrade to my capability.......g
