tires&wheels

I have asked questions before about tire size etc. was told to read the write up. Well either I just can't seems to grasp it or it's not there.

Here is what I would like to know and what my plan is.

I have stock 16inch wheels with 225x75x16 tires. I want to get black wheels with a 4.5 inch back spacing now and mount the stock tires. When they are done I want to get the biggest tire I can on the the 16 inch with 4.5 inch back spacing wheels. Can you recommend a 16 inch wheel with 4.5 inch back spacing and hub centric? What is the biggest tire I can use? Thanks, Tom

not sure you will find what you are looking for in a hub centric rim. I went with 16X8 4.5" bs Raceline Raptors and had hub rings made. I think they would look goofy with 225's on them tho. I had 265/75-16's and they looked funny. I moved to 285/75-16's and I am happy with them.

Look funny

I agree that they would look funny but I only have 3k on the stock tires, I really would like to get some mileage out of them. Then buy the 285x75x16'

mine had 100 miles on them and I got some money for them from the tire shop towards the new ones.

The raceline raptors are a well made rim and only about $115 a piece. Not sure if you have Les Schwabb tire stores in your area but they were very good and gave me credit for my take off tires and rims.

Plasti-Dip your stock wheels and get some spacers...that'll get you the Black and WIDE look you're trying for...probably cost you $200 +/- and you can run your tires down for a while... AND you can Plasti-dip the wheels WITH the tires on..no mount and balance fees...perfect time would be when you pull the wheels to install the spacers....
Then when you're ready to go wheel/tire you can get a package deal and maybe a better price...and you can also proabably sell your spacers on the forum and get half your money back...
PLUS !....remember with your current plan, your gonna pay to have your 225s mounted and balanced on your new wheels...then pay to have your 225s removed and the new tires mounted and balanced, again, when you upgrade...
Just a thought.....

level 8, Black Rock, and MB. im a crew chief at discount tire, we see this every day and we know what to do. come down to one of our stores and explain the situation the our guys and theyll find something for you (remember youre about to spend close to 2K, theyll do what ever they can to get that sale and make you happy) but personally id recommend the BFG KM2, great tire and they hold their life better than most
