To paint, or not to paint

I stole this from another forum... I have a Rescue Green and kind of liked the idea to add some color on the dash

What do you guys think? And do you think I need to sand down the A/C rings before I paint them, or just get a can of Rescue Green touch up paint and throw it on there?

I think that looks bad a**. I would be curious to know how he painted those so clean. It looks as if it was sprayed. To my knowledge we can't get factory paint in a spray can...

Mopar sells factory touch up paint in a spray can. You can order it at the dealer.

That looks good.... It's the attention to detail that sets one Jeep off from the next.

Thanks. I was worried it was too flashy or tacky or out-of-place.

I'll get this done when I get my hands on some Rescue Green spray paint

I might do the little inserts on each side of the grab handle as well.

I have a Black 4dr and was thinking of doing something similiar... Except going for red to match the color of my interior. Hmm.... I don't like how shiny they seem to look, that's the only drawback I see... still considering, so keep us posted on what yours look like.

Yes, you will want to sand the rings with a very fine grit, to give the paint a better surface to adhere.

It's strange; in the beginning I absolute disliked this colour. But for some reason, it actually starts to become one of my favourites! It really grows on you....
What is it you got on top of the hood btw?

Concerning your question; it does look nice but beware of overkilling it. Your jeep is no circus.

I'm on the fence...you might want to price out a set of replacement rings in case you hate it .

You can get silver accents aftermarket. Not as cheap as paint obviously, but I'd expect they'd hold up better. Here's a specific example, but there are others. You could go totally wild with something like this.

Absolutely go for it. I saw that pic awhile back and loved it! I would probably do it if mine weren't already mineral gray from the Mountain package!
