Too Late to Change Order?

On June 30, 2014, I ordered from the dealership a 2015 Wangler Unlimited Rubicon X in anvil. Now, I am having second thoughts and want to change to a different color. I called the dealership and they said it was being built now but they'll call Chrysler and ask of they can change.

I called Jeep customer service on Saturday, July 5th and they told me they don't even have the VON in their system yet and told me to call back later this week. From this, I know that the dealership may not have been very frank with me telling me it was being built.

My question is: Is one able to request a change to a different color after it is ordered from the dealership? I do have a VON given to me from the dealer so I know the order was placed.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

It all depends on the manufacturer and when the cut off is for the changes. It is not up to the dealer and all they can do is request the change.

When I ordered my '13 JKU I inadvertently ordered it without the 4.10 gears. The dealer asked me to write a letter regarding aforementioned my gearing intensions that he could share with their Jeep/Chrysler Corp. representative and they would get me the Jeep I wanted. I wrote the letter and got my Jeep w/the4.10 gears.

Thanks everyone. It would make sense that Jeep would be able to make a change prior to the production date. But I also understand that all parts must be in before one's order is scheduled to be built. The dealership said they would call Chrysler to ask, but no guarantees. Oh yes...I wanted to change from anvil to white. I've had too many dark colored vehicles in my life - time for a change.

True, however you haven't made it to D1 yet and that is when the plant starts gathering your parts for build. You should be okay to make the change since production doesn't begin until July 21.

Is the July 21st still slated as the start of production? Seems like I have read a few things online where people are expecting delivery dates pretty soon after that. Did the production start date get moved up by any chance?

This is from a post I wrote over in the waiting room:

Latest update from our Secret Squirrel is that production will begin on the 11th and the 21st should be the first day of shipping. But that all depends on how smoothly the factory retool goes and that they don't have many issues with QA.

Thanks! I think I need to start spending more time on here. There is so much information and it seems like I keep missing the threads that have all of the answers to my questions. Ha ha.

By the time your jeep arrives you will have spent 5198257623 hours here researching mods and complaining about why your jeep isn't here yet. Trust me, you've just been diagnosed with OJCD. Obsessive Jeep Compulsive Disorder!
