Top and door off question

Since I just purchased the new 2012 Wrangler there are some questions that I need help with. With the doors off, when you turn off the key, the power stays on as if you are sitting in the jeep with the doors closed. So the radio continues to play for several minutes before going off. Is there a way to turn this off (besides turning the radio off)? Never owned a jeep this new so it is something that is weird to me. Thanks for your replies

I believe you can change it thru the personalized setting... similar to how you'd disable auto door-lock, eco light, etc.

I thought about trying that with my still attached rear doors, but I have the auto door locks activated and since the door unlock button is in the now removed doors, it was a pain to unlock them from inside

^^Right there. That's what I'm talking 'bout! Now if I can only get the song to automatically switch to AC/DC's Back In Black every time I turn off the ignition.

under menu, settings, personalization - there is an option to turn everything off, or a 30 second delay after power off. jeep not home right now, otherwise I would give you exact navigation

If you need a manual for your JK, you can download a 600+ page version of it from:

My Jeep: Jeep Owners Service Manuals - 4x4 SUVs, Sports Utility Vehicles, Off Road

Fill in the blanks and you'll be able to download a PDF version. Then, use the FIND feature in your PDF viewer, usually CNTL-F, to help search the 600 pages.

BTW, I copied select pages from my 600 page version that I felt was either better or was just missing from the supplied smaller/condensed owners manual, and printed them out on 5.5" by 8.5" paper (cut standard 8.5" x 11" paper in half). I then took it to Staples and had them laminate the front and back pages and then do their spiral binding thing to it.

If you'd like a PDF copy of it or more info, PM me.

Enjoy.

Sorry mate, not sure if this applies to 2008. If you have the vehicle information center on your dash (compass, trip computer, etc.) then you likely are able to personalize.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. I wish I had no bones....

Mine is set for everything (radio, lights, etc) to go off 30 secs after I turn off the engine. Try that and keep the theme music...

What are these apps you speak of, and what exactly do they do?

No power windows or locks.
No fancy radio or speakers
bare / base model
My radio turns off before I am far enough away to hear it (if that makes any sense)
Its 15 seconds at most
