I have the good fortune of living in the same city I was raised. I do check both but also look to see what is west of us as most of our weather comes from the west. I have been fairly lucky so far, but the way this winter has been, all bets are off to be accurate this summer.
accuweather.com and the weather channel. Here in Florida it could rain at any second but really only lasts for a few min. Yesterday was 10% chance to rain, well it rained where i was working (I work outside ofc lol) and it didnt rain where my Jeep was parked. So I usually take the chance unless it says 40% or more for more than 1 day in a row otherwise I may never take the top off.
Random Guy: "Is there anywhere that thing cant go?"
Me: "Yea, past a gas station..."
I just strap down a tarp with clamps if it's during the night.. It keeps dew out and it's quick if it's going to be raining soon.. It's really easy to.. Because if t hails your top is covered because its down.. It's worked several times for me.. Although I got some strange looks from the neighbors.. I think they thought I stole it..
in CO, any weather forecast is a variable guess... at best. I second the "Brrr Damit" model. the only real "trust" you have is your own eyes. Don't worry about the weather, if it is warm enough to put the top town, do it, if it gets cold, put it up. In 20 years of driving jeeps, I have gotten wet plenty of times... no big deal (unless on your way to a business meeting)
If the desire hits u, stop worrying about the weather, just go out and have fun with your toy
