I know the manual says max 3500. Ours is an '07 with pretty much factory size tires. Last owner put on 15" 285s so diameter is nearly stock. How far have you stretched that? What's the most you have towed with a 3.8 and 4:10s, automatic? With or without equalizer hitch? How far?

Haven't gotten mine yet, but I don't think the power is the problem.
I think it is a stability issue of a "lite" vehicle and what it should be towing safely.

The only thing I will be towing with mine is a SeaDoo RXT 260,
about 1100#s including the trailer. LOL

2013 JKU 3.21 gears auto trans with tow package, pulled double axle trailer with a Kawasaki Mule and quite a bit of hunting and camping type gear on it. Total towed weight I'm guessing at around 3000 Lbs. (about the most I would want to haul)
Drove 275 miles, the last of which were quite hilly, In fact the last half hour was on a very very rough ranch road that many would call Off road (5 mph stuff empty, had creek crossings and all ). Stayed around 60-65 on HWY and had no issues. Stability was good, strong crosswinds would blow it around a bit but mot unmanigable by any stretch. That Mule sticks way up and has a big flat windscreen. just my experience with it anyway. My wife drove part of the way and she had no problems either.

Like a 14 dauntless? I think those weigh 2,000 with trailer. I towed a 15 dauntless and the boat is 750 motor is 3-400 and trailer was about 800 I think. Perfect boat for behind a jeep

How fast did you keep it on the highway and how stable was it?

About 3,500 lbs most weekends in my last Jeep, 2013 Sport with 3.73. Anxious to see how the new Jeep does.

Yea it's very similar to the dauntless. Some spots I hit 85 for a spurt bit mostly 70-75 the whole way. It would hunt between 4th and 5th on some inclines and through the hilly areas so I kept it in 4th to prevent excessive shifting. Other than that it was like I had nothing behind me at all.
