Towing package

Is a towing package hard to install on the 07 unlimited? Could a strong and intellegent female do it or would I need help? Trying to save myself paying labor!!

It is not hard. Get the bolt on type, that uses some existing bolts and other existing holes. No drilling required. Also order the wiring kit from Quadratec. It was really easy to connect with "T" connections. The hardest part is holding the hitch up and lining up the holes to place the bolts through. You may have existing wiring there, though I am not certain. Remember 2000 lbs for a Jeep, and 3500 lbs for an unlimited. I think you can do it. Steve

Thank you guys for information!! It doesn't sound to difficult other figuring out how to line up to the existing holes and hold it there.

Ok, so I need order the wiring kit from Quadratec, but where do you recommend ordering the hitch? O'Reily's or Auto Zone?

You could order it from Quadratec as well. Be careful of the shipping charges. They are much less expensive than locally. I think I saw them for around $150 or so including the purchase of the wiring kit. Compare that to a hitch installed locally for $400 or so. Quadratec is extremely friendly and helpful. I have never had any issues with them.
I like the Draw-Tite personally or Reese is good. My hitch is rounded so it looks nice too.

Put the hitch on the jack and wind it up until it is in the proper place. If this does not work find somebody in your neighborhood with a *old* truck. Likely he works on it and may have a rolling floor jack that the hitch could balance on.

Thank you guys!! You have been very helpful. Locally I was told $280 for the hitch kit and couple hours labor!! It would definately cost $500 total to have someone do it for me. I will look up quadratec today!! Thanks again!!
