trade my cosmos blue hardtop for your black one

Hello all. I recently purchased a 2012 JKU Rubicon with dual tops and the hard top is body colored (cosmos blue). I love it but my wife isn't so crazy about it as she would prefer the black top. I like the black top as well so to placate her, I would be willing to do an even swap - my blue top for your black top if interested (about a $900 advantage your way).

The jeep currently has 500 miles on it and the top has been off one time to remove the soft top. If you are near Virginia Beach, Virginia and are interested, please let me know. Thanks.

Why don't you just tape it off and paint it? (off the Jeep of course)

I like the blue top so I won't go to those lengths to have a black one. I just figured that if someone wanted one instead of black, I'd trade them. If not I'll just keep it.

Yep... Tape and paint. You could go black in flat or gloss... Or go metalic charcoal with matching fenders! Been thinking bout it myself should I end up with body color peices.

I too liked the Black top better than the solid color. Before I got mine at the dealer we swapped it with a Wrangler S blacktop! so, there is a pretty unique (I think?) Wrangler S on a lot in NC with a solid color red top... My Sahara attached.

looks nice. I've never understood the painted top, makes it look less 'jeepy', if you will. Imo.

Yeah... Mostly I couldnt care for the body color top. However... Seeing it on Black Forest Green and Silver... It's growing on me. While it looks less Wrangler-Like... It still looks quite "Jeep", quite tough... Sort of militant. But only those two colors... And maybe black. Anything else belongs on an episode of baywatch while the White looks like a full-blown 1920's ambulance! Lol

I wouldn't want a body colored top personally lol. Iv heard of people bedlining it and always thought that would be cool, although it adds a lil weight.

Hey, that's the beauty of the Wrangler. It's so customizable that everyone can easily tailor their rig to their taste. Me, I love the white on white. Of course, that's why I bought one!

I really really dig the look of a Flame Red Sahara with a black-top. If I can't get Winter Chill (with a painted top), I will probably go with Flame Red or Black Forest (once I see it in person) with a black top.

Certain colors can pull of a painted top better than others....especially in 4 door Sahara's or Rubi's with painted fenders (Sahara Tan, Silver, Deep Cherry).

Some colors are just too bright to be monochromatic IMO.

Actually, back in '92 when I bought my first YJ, they tried selling me a White Jeep with a White Hard Top. I said it looked too much like a Posta Jeep and asked if they could give me a Black top. I think they rattle canned it.

It's funny how polarizing this topic is. My wife and I agree, fortunately, that black top on our Crush was the only way to go. As my wife put it, making it all one color makes it start to look like a Hummer. (Yes, even my wife knows that to insult a Jeep driver, just call his rig a Hummer).

I don't diss on you guys who wanted a colored top, though; it's just a matter of personal preference! (My wife is the sort who will pick a fight with a 7' dude and then tell him her husband -- 5'7" -- is gonna kick his ass).

Here you go. I like the way it looks and the only reason I'm honoring my wife's request to get a black top is that she agreed that it was a good idea to keep my 08 Corvette Z06 even though I was buying my Rubicon.

You're about 4 1/2 hrs away from me but this is very tempting. I too like the black better, but this is unique because you won't see many driving around with that combo. Hmmmm.....

I'd do that drive. I think the matching top and non color matched fenders is a great look on the blue and for $900 saved-worth a long day.

I think you were right and it looks killer. Tell the wife you like it that way, and let her paint the kitchen a different color, or change the drapes and leave your Jeep alone.

Seems odd that you can get a colored top with black fenders...seems like you would order all color, or all black.
