Trail Prep

So since my JKU is brand new, I'd like to keep it looking sexy. Is there any good trail prep that can be done just to make sure the Jeep makes it through alright. I'm thinking of taking off the side bars, and giving it a good waxing. Any other thoughts? I know it's a Jeep and it's supposed to get mud, but I'd like when I wash it for it to look like new again

And really just any trail prep ideas in general, for whenever its hitting the woods or the beach. I love advice!

I'd like to further enhance this request, and I apologize in advanced for not using the search function... but in the spirit of ending up with a great resource post:
What repair parts should one carry?
What typically gets damaged off road in the JK suspension? I see tie rods might be a common break point, what else? And, do you need to carry a spare tie rod or is there some way to patch up and limp home?
What about electrical? Spare starter? A second battery or boost pack/cigarette booster maybe...
Probably throw in a drive belt, some JB weld or something you can use to repair a punctured gas/oil tank...
I suppose, at least a quart or two of engine oil.
Can anyone add to this list? In particular, on any spare parts that should be carried?

not sure where you are going but, you need to be prepared for some 'pin stripping' if you're going on wooded trails. i got my new pin stripping out with compound followed by swirl remover, then wax of course. next time i go i am taking the top and doors off.

D-rings and tow straps(bnone with imbedded hooks). Tire repair kit and compressor. Starter fluid and matches. Change of clothes. Another vehicle, serpentine belt, used is fine. Working spare, better jack, basic tools.

Plan on getting stuck and be prepared for recovery. Words of wisdom: Don't attempt what you cannot afford.
