Trailer for my Jeep

I have been looking for a trailer for my Jeep to haul light stuff, yard debris
and a quad. I finally settled on this one.

It is made by a company called Iron Eagle, made locally where I live in
Fairview, Oregon. It has electric brakes, but have not got a controller wired for my Jeep yet. It weighs about 750lbs.

I really believe someone could make a killing making an inexpensive M-416 type trailer specifically for new Jeeps. This is a good looking basic trailer.

I agree. I spent quite some time looking at trailers. This one caught my eye mainly because of the options one could add and the way it is built and the materials used.

This particular trailer is a 4x8 made with Duraguard sides, which is the same stuff used to make traffic signs. the base model is 1440.00.

I added trailer brakes, stake pockets and a spare tire carrier. That brought the price up to 1783.00

Nice trailer, but

Your safety chains have to be crossed--

Not only isit safer, but most states have a law, that states--the Trailer safety chains--must be crossed, between anchoring points !

I did not know that. Learn something new everyday. It makes sense though, now that I think about it. Thanks for the tip.

We tend to think that all the chains do, is keep from losing the trailer, if the hitch fails, but

When they're crossed, the "cross" will catch the trailer hitch and keepit from hitting the asphalt and breaking/flipping !

I never did like towing mine anyway !

OK now I feel like a dumbell, because the chains being crossed and catching the hitch was not what I was thinking. I was thinking that the chains being crossed would help in controling the side to side sway if the hitch failed.

Thanks for educating me.

Nice looking trailer. Good idea to get the brakes on it.
