Tranny coolers 07-12 did u know your wrangler doesn't have one???

I was shocked to see no trannie cooler on my 07 jeep, After reading posts here i checked when i replaced my head lights. Jeep what is with your engineering dept. So bought 1 for wrangler and 1 for cherokee, WTF if it is 4x4 tow package and no oil or trannie coolers. They did recall on mine and again after reading they only reprogramed to keep light off.
I live in Texas and it is hot, I did the wrangler no problem. Then the cherokee what a cluster //ck, My hands are ground meat had to cut all cplg's and steel lines replace with hose.
I hear that 2013 now have after trannie fires and alot of customers bitching.

If I remember correctly the 2012s have the transmission cooler.

Is the factory cooler internal to the radiator or is it external?

Up to '11 there are cooler lines to a small integrated cooler. The '12s have their own good sized cooler. If you don't have a '12 and tow, get a separate cooler and an EGT gauge.

Most vehicles have an integrated transmission cooler. Hence the aluminum lines running from your transmission to the radiator. Its just undersized.

The temperature gauge on your dash is for coolant temperature. Not transmission temperature. If your transmission overheats you will get a warning message that says "HOT OIL" or something like that and an annoying sound to accompany it.

The 07-11 have a small cooler integrated into the bottom of the AC condenser. It's not enough so I added a B&M 70268. Works great and cut my avg temps 30 degrees F. Google it for plenty of pics and install write ups.

The 12 has a separate cooler mounted right up front.

I have purchased a 2010 SAHARA, and also just learned of the fires due to Trans. overheating. Does Chrysler/Jeep offer a Trans. Cooler kit that they would install, as not to cause issues with warranty?

Why do you need an EGT gage if you are not running forced induction? You are not trying to protect a turbo.

No need for bold.

Your information is incorrect. The fires are not caused by the tranny overheating. It is caused because debris is getting caught in the tranny skid plate and making contact with that cat converter.

Jeep recalls nearly 68,000 Wrangler models over... skid plate fires?
Correct. And you should already have a tranny cooler that was factory installed.

My 2013 Rubicon has a transmission cooler in front of the a/c grill condenser. I thought that all of the JK's had them. Maybe that is why some of the 4 speeds overheat???

I've never had a transmission cooler on a manual transmission. Why would I want one?

The fires were mainly 2010 models, caused by a poorly designed skid plate!
