Tread Lightly Discount?

I've been reading about the Tread Lightly discount program, but I haven't read anywhere about how much it is. Searched Tread Lightly and here, but didn't find anything. Can anyone fill me in?

Officially, joining Tread Lightly for 3 years ($60) allows you to purchase any new Chrysler vehicle for 1% below invoice.

As soon as I mentioned the Tread Lightly discount, my sales guy offered me 2% below invoice. I have heard this happens a lot. On a side note, I was never asked to provide any proof that I actually joined Tread Lightly. Could have saved an additional $60.

I read, though, that you have to join for three years to qualify for the discount.

Yes, it's three year membership for the discount and you must be a member for 30 days before you qualify for the discount. I was going to do it but didnt want to wait the 30 days. From reading online it seemed that you could still get similar or better discounts/deals with the TL membership and it was true as that is what I did. TL is an easy no hassle way to do it but not the only way.

There is no such thing as a "Tread Lightly discount"!

A three year membership in Tread Lightly, and about 1,200 other employment or membership situations, qualifies you for the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards program.

This is an old list (doesn't include TL) but you'll get the idea:

Qualifying Organizations

The program guarantees a maximum price of 1% under factory wholesale invoice, and strictly limits other dealer charges (DOC fees, state and local fees and taxes, and a $75 admin. fee)

Any other incentives you are eligible for (like $500 military discount, etc.) will also still apply. The dealer can give you a better price, but Chrysler guarantees the maximum price, and has a department to enforce the deal if you have a problem.

In my opinion, it's the best way to purchase a Jeep for both you and the dealer.

That's because Chrysler pays the dealer that 2%. If they don't offer, ask for it.

Used it and it made for a very easy buy. I'm someone that doesn't mind the bargaining part of the vehicle deal but for anyone else this is the only way to go. Save you some cash to spend on you new toy not for your new toy. Good luck and enjoy.

UHB - how many times have you said that since last summer?

That post needs to be stickied!

Does anyone know if you can use the tread lightly discount in addition to EP discount? I'm guessing not, but worth asking. I got a control number from an executive for the EP. Wonder if I can use tread lightly for an additional 1% off.

Thank you!

The EP discount is higher so don't bother with the Tread Lightly.
