Trek Top NX Install Question

I've had my trektop installed on my JKU for about a month now and today I finally had the chance to remove the rear windows so I can drive it with the bikini look. I noticed that there is Velcro on the actual top and where the rear bar goes into. Are they suppose to connect? They seem to be about 1-2 inches apart. The top fits great with the windows and stuff. Did I put the brackets on backwards?

Thanks,

Just finished putting my doors back on so I just saw this myself. The flap at the top back of the side panel has velcro on the bottom of it that attaches to that velcro on the crossbar (not sure by the pic, but you might have your flap tucked under the crossbar). then the velcro on the top (by your finger) attaches to the velcro on the top of the back window.

I'm thinking that maybe I put the brackets on upside down? I'll have to check them later. But like a said before everything fits good so iif I reverse the brackets Im afraid that the windows not got right.

Crap, nevermind... just realized you took your sides off and are running safari top....in that case, then no, I don't believe that the velcro attaches there...

So instead of making a new thread I just wanted to post my "minor problem" here. I installed the top portion of the trektop nx, however I am not able to get the hooks from the header bar to attach to the jeep. Seems like I'm 1/4-1/2 inch short.

I knew it would be a tight fit, however for the life of me, I can't get the header bar hooked. I even slid the brackets on either side forward as much as possible, but that didn't do anything. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I put it on last night but today around noon I went out to check at work and it hasn't budged. Been baking in the 95+ degree heat for 4+ hours. The top is almost too hot to touch!

Did you leave the straps loose at the sound bar? And dont tighten up the straps to the back very tight.

Did you watch the Teraflex install video on Youtube? They have a few tips to make it easy. In this case the front gets hooked before the back windows are zipped in. Then you close the front as the last step.

I had the same problem last year, but solved it in a different way (not seeing the video). I made small spacers on the middle bracket so the middle support bars got pushed forward. (I know not very clear) Right under the quick disconnects for the top above the B pillar. I ground down a small nut to fit in the space so the bracket did not slip backwards when the top came down in the front.

Mine looked just like your picture.

Nice idea for extending the bracket. I finally got it hooked. I read someplace where someone loosened the hoops on the jeep so I tried that and pulled down on the header bar. Going to leave it closed like that for a couple days so it can stretch out some. Maybe next time I go to latch it, it won't be that bad.

Thanks all! I'll post a pic shortly!
