Trektop NX Issues / Resolutions?

I recently purchased a Trektop NX for a 2012 JK. I am having issues that others in the forum are having. There appears to be a design flaw with the rear support bar and the rear straps.

1. The seam is ripping on both sides of the top piece where the back straps connect to top at the support bar sleeve.

2. Support bar slips out of sleeve during driving in safari mode after only a few minutes. Tightening rear support straps seems to help, but the top will then rip more. I have read about and implemented a few workarounds, but it seems like a flaw the factory should fix.

I will start the warranty process tomorrow, but I don't want to receive a top with the same issues. Other than the above, I really like the top.

Does anyone know if the Bestop has acknowledge the issues and plans to redesign the rear area of the top?

I just went out and took a look at mine...I don't see any tearing and that bar is still in place. I've been safari since Thursday and haven't had any problems (going on hwys and on dirt roads). I did tighten the back straps after I took the windows off but haven't touched it since.

Is it possible the bar is in the wrong slot? As I was looking at mine it looks like there could be a place to thread that bar at the very back of the top near the seam....when it should be right at the channel where the back window sits?
make sense?

Glad to hear there are folks not having an issue. Gives me hope for getting a new top piece.

I am in the pocket next to the back window channel. Do you use the Sunrider option? I have to adjust the strap before and after each use of sunrider. If I don't tighten after opening, the straps will be too loose. Of course, then I need to loosen before closing. I am going to go over the whole installation to make sure I didn't do something slightly off.

My workaround works very nicely. I have place a strap through the bar and strapped the bar down.

I put mine on two weeks ago. The first night, just after install, I couldn't get the front to latch. It was about an inch short. Next day it got to 95 outside and I got it to latch. Then ran in safari / sunrider mode all weekend. Closed top back due to about 8" of rain over the last few days and not a single drop in the jeep. Love the top and get tons if complements.
