So I bought a used trektop nx tonight. It's in fantastic shape. Looks almost brand new. Used a couple months last year. Anyway. I will install it tomorrow. Should be a quick install since most of its put together.
I paid $450. So we'll see. I'll be happy if it holds up for 5 yrs since the warranty is void with used purchases. It's gonna be a summer top with the hard top going back on in the late fall/winter. That should help by keeping it out of the cold.
Hopefully pick mine up on Friday. Used but BNIB, so never installed and box only opened to check contents. £500 this end, but still cheaper than importing and definitely cheaper than buying locally.
Leave it out in the sun to expand. The Trektop is a PITA to put on and take off. To the point where I consider removing and replacing the hard top an easier, quicker job. By far.
I hated it for that reason at first. However, it still looks bad ass doors off, top up, and has the benefit of keeping my pasty white skin out of the sunlight. So, I guess it kinda grew on me.
Still wish it was easier to put back on. Besttop Glide was supposed to do that, but I've heard its even worse. TBH it was never the zippers that were the problem, it was stretching the MF.
Mine went together easy. And it's a nice tight fit. My only concern was getting stuff in the back. But I'll just have to unzip it if need be. We had down pours today and no leaks. So that's good.
Our new Trektop NX has been totally water tight so far and if it was gonna leak, it would have yesterday as the Wrangler sat in a parking lot through the remnants of the tropical storm that passed through PA yesterday. Ours wasn't that hard to stretch into place and zip up but it was in the sun for a few hours prior.
