I am going to smell like burnt plastic for a week rofl

Now, this is only a rough cut. Not pretty !! I need to find a better sander to smooth my cuts, and then add the door trim/molding. The only issue was removing the driver fender well. A good yank and 1/2 my flare tore off the body. Broke 2 of those flat body clips I now have to find

Took around 4 hrs with multiple water breaks. 1 trip for blades. all while dealing with back issues

Thanks Sue (Sueby) for the help/direction

Looking nice. How much lift on what tires? I am about to do this but I don't know if it will look bad with a full width bumper.

Looks great! I got lucky and a fellow Jeeper took his off and put on the SRC bolt on armor so he gave me his. I tried to pay him but he would only accept beer and Red Bull. Gotta love your fellow Jeepers!

Looks nice. I wonder if a sanding block would take the edges down without the oops I went to far problem I seem to have? Lol

Those stupid body clips are almost $8 each if I remember right.

Time to get some 37's to fill in some of the newly made space!

Are you worried about the edges of the fenders? They sell the automotive trim at most auto parts stores, do you have Pep Boys in your neighborhood? IMO they have the best looking trim. I can get you a pic if you like?

The door trim I haven't done yet. Still need to final sand and then add the trim.
Sure

Knowing what you know now, if you had to do it all over again, what, if anything, would you do different?

Busted lol
I originally taped away from where I wanted to cut. I wanted to leave 1/8 or so to be safe. I was using a jig saw if that makes any difference. It's impossible to recut a small amount off and if taking your time-cuts pretty accurately. So I would have just taped and followed the line.

It helps to have another set of hands to hold the flare from vibration.

Don't worry about screwing up. It doesn't have to be perfect. Small waves are hardly noticed with the door trim.

Ok, so you're saying "tape where you want the cut". Thanks for your advice and sharing your experience.

My 2.5" TF spring lift goes on this weekend. Still undecided on tires (want to keep the stock rims - any suggestions?) and then I'll start planning this out.

We'll see how it goes...

Tape where you want to cut

You might need wheel spacers running the stock wheels. What size ? There are so many tires to choose from.

Don't want to jack your thread, but the rim is 17x7.5. I've already got 1.5" Spidertrax spacers and it'll have a 2.5" lift.

I don't know if I want to "commit" to 35's or not. I'll have to sleeve and gusset the axles if I go that big, right?

I've heard I can go 35x12.5 on a stock rim, but I serious have doubts that a 12.5 width tire would SAFELY mount on a 7.5" rim.

Looks great man! Everybody who trims the flares has their own cut, I like the way you shaped yours. How are they at interstate speeds?

These are cheaper Omix-Ada Part oai11609.28 - T-style Fender Flare & Rocker Molding Clip

Or even better yet Jeep Fender Flare & Rocker Moulding Clip 68039280-AA

I bought 2 packs of the ones from clips and fasteners and always keep a bunch in the Jeep. Am constantly breaking em on the trail when I don't have extras with me.

Dunno yet.
You need to drill a hole and secure the front well after its cut. It flaps but I did not hear a peep on my way to work.
