Hello Fellow Wheelers,
I joined the Jeep family during a Hurricane at the end of last year (what better time to buy a Jeep, plus I was the only one at the dealership and they we're dying to make a sale).
I was waiting for some decent summer action shots before I posted my beauty, but cat's out of the bag now, here are some shots with the top and doors off (from yesterday): Top Down, Doors Off, That's the way I like to...Jeep? - Imgur
So, as you can see I took my hardtop off. I have a Safari top, and a Bestop full trail cover (which covers the door area too). I also have a Sunrider top (came with the Jeep), which is my backup for when it is raining and I'm driving. However, the Sunrider top is not working.
When I put the top on (following the directions, countless Youtube videos, and endless forum postings I've read) the back does not go all the way down. Here are pictures to show you what I am talking about

(Here is a direct link to that first image, seeing as Imgur broke it: http://i.imgur.com/5OTINFg.jpg
So, as you can see here (http://i.imgur.com/5OTINFg.jpg
) the front is clipped (but not fully latched), yet the back will no go 'down.' No matter how much pressure I put on it. I actually got so frustrated at one point I put my entire body weight on to it - it didn't go down.
Now, you'll notice that last image shows the back 'down'. Here's why: Un-SCREW THIS - Imgur
. You can actually see right here the top is still not even flat: http://i.imgur.com/L7tXTMU.jpg
. And in case you missed it, I unscrewed the one bar, which is why it looks like the back is down in the one shot: http://i.imgur.com/F4NjygJ.jpg
Note, After playing with it some more it is apparent the resistance is from the metal bar, not the fabric or the strap (though the strap does get rather taunt, it still has some slack). It's as if the metal bar is too long/too far back - see the last set of pictures here: Un-SCREW THIS - Imgur
To increase my rage it's raining it's ass off now, and I am soaked. =D
So, long post short: I put the Sunrider on, following the directions, but the back will not go 'down.' No matter how much pressure is applied. I'm just not sure what is wrong or what to do, any thoughts, help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
