Tuffy/Bestop Underseat Lockable Drawer

I was wondering if there was a way to change to lock on a Bestop Underseat Lockable Storage box so that I can use the same key as the Tuffy Concealed Carry Lockable Box? I have the a Tuffy already installed under my passenger seat and was given a Bestop driver side box for free. Would love to use the same key for both!

Doubtful, I think it would be expensive to get it re keyed. But maybe call a locksmith and see what they would charge.

It's easy. Not super cheap but easy. Tuffy sells replacement keys and locks that are very easy to swap out.

I noticed that Tuffy has locks that I can order that would have the same keys but wasn't sure if it would fit the Bestop box!

Thanks!

I doubt it. They probably don't use the same style of locks.

Just something to look into your local dealer has JK door locks 20-30 bucks each and most will key them for free as it only takes seconds I delta with this when I got new doors. This lock is very similar to most locks and you can then use your ignition key to lock/unlock the box.

I don’t know how Tuffy is in making locks but thinking like Better Built Tool Boxes for instance only use a few different lock combos so if you have one chances are someone in your neighborhood has a key for it. Back down south you can go to a Napa or Car Quest Auto and buy tool box keys off the shelf. So they are not that secure. I would hope Tuff is a little better but if you think about it as many boxes as they make not every single one will have a different lock.

But I would hope not many people have an ignition key to your JK if they do then the box is not gonna help ya.. *L*
