Well, this is a first.
I got the Tuffy pushbutton combo lock for my concealed carry drawer: Tuffy combination pushbutton security lock.
After cutting out the template that was sent with the lock, the mounting holes simply did not line up. I had to basically make my own template and drill (again) into my new $100 drawer in different locations. I finally got the lock installed which is great, since it is easy to reach and press the buttons I programmed to open quickly and without looking.
I contacted Tuffy about this and they directed me to a PDF download for the instructions/template. So even though the unit was installed, I printed out this PDF version to compare and, low and behold, it was still off. Luckily the template had measurements on it and it turns out the entire template was scaled and off over 3/16" from where it should be (both the one they sent and the PDF printed).
So far I've exchanged a few emails but they haven't offered to do anything for me with respect to the additional holes I put in my drawer due to THEIR negligence in providing an incorrect template.
Just thankful that it is just a drawer and I wasn't cutting or drilling into the body or frame.
So word of advice, if there are measurements on any templates anybody provides, verify the measurements before using the template.
