Tuffy Security Deck and Soft Top

I just put my softtop on last week. When I put it down it is resting pretty high above the tail light on my tire rest, but when I see videos of people putting the top down it rest much lower. I was wondering if anyone else with the security is experiencing the same thing or if I am just doing something wrong.

Any help would be appreciated. Its a 2013 JKU with the factory premium soft top.

Looks like you just threw that thing back!
Try folding it down neatly, should get you a nicer look.

I've got a 2013 with the Tuffy Deck installed also. When I put my top down (neatly) the highest point rests even or maybe just below the taillight. Still higher than I would like, though.

I bought the Smittybilt Storage Boot for it to try and clean it up, not realizing that it relies on the top sitting down in the cargo area to give it that clean/neat look. So now I've either got to have the boot modified or I'm stuck with one I can't use (because like a genius I threw all the packaging away days before ever trying it).

Take the boot to a marine upholsterer and have them add in a bit of material to the corner seam to give it a little more height.

Ya after folding mine better I can see the rear tail light now. I have been thinking about getting a boot as well. Were you able to modify yours?

Nah, mine's just been gathering dust in the garage. I need to do something with it soon, one way or the other...
