Tuffy security deck enclosure question.

I have a JKunlimited with a soft top. I was researching the Tuffy security enclosure. The enclosure is secure with the tailgate locked. My concern is that if someone were to get into the jeep by cutting or unzipping the top and pressing the auto unlock button, that the tailgate would unlock and not be secure. Does anyone have this concern and how do you deal with it?

Since a soft top is never really secure, I would like to leave it unlocked all the time and keep any valuables in the security enclosure.

It is my understanding that if your Jeep is locked with your key fob the unlock button in the interior is automatically disabled after 15 or 30 seconds I can't remember. Someone else that knows for sure will hopefully chime in but like I said I am pretty sure I have read that on here before with someone that had a similar concern

That was my understanding too, and if you have doors off there is no unlock button!

^^^^ That is correct.

Page 11 of the User's Guide:

VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM

To Arm:
• Lock the door using either the power door lock switch (one door must be open) or the LOCK button on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter (doors can be open or closed), and close all doors.

NOTE:
The Vehicle Security Alarm will not arm if you lock the doors with the manual door lock plungers. The Vehicle Security Light in the instrument cluster will flash for 16 seconds. This shows that the Vehicle Security Alarm is arming. During this period, if a door is opened, the ignition is cycled to ON/RUN, or the power door locks are unlocked in any manner, the Vehicle Security Alarm will automatically disarm.

NOTE:
Once armed, the Vehicle Security Alarm disables the unlock switch on the driver door trim panel and passenger door trim panel.

Thank you for the responses. I read through the user guide trying to figure it out but i missed the part about the security system disabling the power lock buttons.
