Tuffy Security Deck prop rod

I have the tuffy security deck, and want to add a prop rod for it to keep the top up when I am getting things in my trunk. I have searched and not really found anything. Has anyone done this? If so can you post directions?

I installed tie-down anchors on the lid of mine. Seems like you could rig something up that way, perhaps. Maybe have something you could attach to the roll bar and hook through the anchors on the front of the lid. Just a thought...

Where did you get and how did you install those tie downs? Also where did you get that mat on the top of your security deck?

Also interested in the tie downs... I was actually just thinking about drilling holes on the side so I don't lose surface space but not sure if that was a good idea.

The diamond looking plastic mat is something Tuffy sells. Check out the catalog that came with your Deck.

Both the anchors and the diamond plate are sold by Tuffy. The diamond plate I attached with a spray-on adhesive (think that mighta come from Tuffy, too). For the anchors I just measured, marked and drilled...

I also mounted a pair of pushbutton, battery-powered LED lights on the inside, so I don't have to dig out the flashlight every time I need to get something outta there at night.

Info on the anchors in post #12 in this thread: Tuffy Security Deck Question

I added a push-button LED light as well....that was a must.
I really like the look of the diamond plate, but I'm cheap...so I just put a couple of coats of plasti-dip there.

------

Note - A full size keg, even on it side...will not fit with the top of the deck on.

yeah a light is a great idea. Just a stick-up kind? And did you find a solution for propping up the lid panthermark?

Yup, just the stick up kind
These (except in silver) were on sale for $1.00 last week.
