Turbo muffler

Anyone heard of a turbo muffler? Apparently it was used as the factory muffler for the mustang... I got a quote to have it installed for $80. Anyone running this on their JK? Have any video?

Just drill a hole in yours. Will make the same sound for free. Not worth it at all you can get the dual cat back exhaust on amazon for $160

If your going for sound or at least look, this will look better and is very easy to install. Don't pay some one to do something that takes about an hour tops with a Max of 3-5 hand tools.

Muffler history 101.

Yes .. Walker made the OEM turbo muffler for the 1964 Corvair Spyder. Why? Because it had a factory turbo. The reason the Corvair turbo muffler was popular for muscle car owners was due to the factory OEM 2.5" inlet and outlet design.. not to mention it was only about 11" long.

The only rival was the OEM Hemi muffler.. 2.25" inlet and outlet... however it was much longer.

Probably both were made by Walker... which is now the parent for Dynomax... which is now the parent for Thrush. Or something like that... don't know who owns who anymore - I believe all these brands are owned by Tenneco.

At the time, Thrush was popular for their glasspack canisters.

Ask a Dynomax rep the history behind the Super Turbo muffler .. it all points back to the 1964 Corvair, not the Mustang.

Got it on mine. I had a Flowmaster 40 put on and it sounded awful. Took it back to the muffler show and they said they would put the Trush Turbo on for free. I planned on doing another muffler later but it makes the prefect sound for me. No drone, quiet when idle, and a great rumble when you hit the gas without waking up half the neighborhood.

I really like it myself. May not last as long but at the price, who cares.

So we use this style of muffler called the Super Turbo on two of our systems for the JK. It is an AXLE back style.
One system is aluminized, a system for areas that are drier and not getting a lot of winter road grime, like a FL, SoCal the South. P/N 39528

The other is a stainless steel system, best for the "Rust Belt", P/N 39510.

Any stainless steel system is ideal for most of the country/Canada.

On a scale of 1-10, it is about a 3 or so. So it is quiet, but you will hear it compared to the stock setup.

And m998dna is pretty spot on with the history.

turbo muffler just means straight in and out glasspack style muffler. Been around forever.

Sorry but the Corsa exhausts are the real deal. I have had a corsa sport on a few cars. Zero drone, all the glorious amazing sounds you want and silent when cruising. They use real modern tech to make the mufflers. I think they should be on every high end factory car. The drawback? Freaking things are expensive as hell and heavy. But I ran a GTO with catless 3.5" exhaust and headers. It was insane when getting on it...Let off and drive gently and it was like stock. Never had an issue with cops or drone, but when you opened it up holy hell.

Amazing.

This is our Super Turbo muffler, not a straight through design:

This is our Race Bullet, it is a straight through design. It is loud and designed for tight spaces AKA race cars.

This is our Ultra Flo Welded style muffler, a straight through design with CRV.

Looking for a chambered muffler image.. GRRR.

I wanted to add an image of a chambered muffler design.
This is from our sister company, Thrush, the classic muffler company.
