turn signal is possessed

my 2013 JK has an interesting issue. on the way to work yesterday I got an indication on my EVIC that my right rear blinker was out. it was blinking fast like a burned out bulb usually does. I drove to a store and stopped to check, and by this time the indication was gone and the signal worked just fine. later that day on the way home I got an indication that my LEFT signal was out, and once again it blinks fast and then eventually goes back to working normally. right now it will probably say left blinker out if I were to hop in the jeep.

all of my lights (and electrical system for that matter) are stock. no LED's or anything. have not even removed the lens. the only possible cause I can think of is that I left my driver window down in a pretty heavy storm on Thursday and maybe some water got in my stalk.

that or demons

any ideas?
