Hey Guys... Without going into too much detail since i'm sure we all know too well what i'm talking about. :banghead: Is there any way to either disable notification or at the very least shorten it? It's so annoying.. Thanks in advance.
I am pretty sure it's the 430, but now that you said 730 i'm not sure.. The uconnect works all the time i don't have an issue with it, but it's just that when an incoming call comes in it has that long annoying message... :-x
The UC in my Grand Cherokee doesn't say that, it just says "Incoming call, press uconnect button to answer" I haven't even noticed what it says in the new JK but I think it's the same.
Oh man... I think i bought a Grand Cherokee navi then :doh:Is there any chance i can perhaps still edit it from saying that? My Audi just beeps and responses right away. The uconnect has delay when you press accept, just wanna shorten that.unk:
Does the Audi use Uconnect or a different system? Uconnect has it's issues for sure. My iPhone 4 when they first came out would connect 1 of 10 calls if that until they finally came out with an update for it. Just make sure you have the latest update, it can be found on certain sites.
The most annoying thing is when it doesn't connect at all, then I answer the call with my phone, and then half way through the call it connects with the delay.
This is just on my JK, only happened once, but I've probably only answered 5 calls, bought 2/15. Maybe it needs a firmware upgrade as well, but it was built Jan 11/12 so i would think it would be current, but I guess the radio could be a lot older.
Has anyone figured this out yet in the last year? The stupid notification voice is longer than the actual number of rings, and she's still talking by the time I answer the phone.
:dance:Yes. Hit uconnect, say settings, and then listen to the prompts. One of the options is "incoming notifications" or something like that. Speak that option, it will ask if you want to turn it off, say yes.
Now, when someone calls it will pop up on your screen but the system will not talk to you at all. You can answer the phone right away by hitting the phone button and the system will not care. Problem solved!
I just did this on my Town and Country with a 430 unit. I created an account just to post my success so others don't have to keep looking!
The problem with UConnect and the long announcement is only with phonebook entries. Therefore if you can block UConnect from acquiring your phonebook, you can avoid the trouble.
Here is how I got my iPhone to work.
First, factory reset UConnect. This will erase everything! I have my contacts synced on gmail, so I turned that off and it prompted me to delete contacts from phone. I said yes. So now I have a phone without any contacts and UConnect is empty. I then pair my phone to UConnect. Under the Bluetooth settings, to the right of UConnect, there is an info icon. Click it and you can turn off Contact syncing. I don't just turn it off, I uncheck everything first then turn it off. Then turn my gmail contact sync back on and the phone now has my contacts; however, UConnect does not.
You should be able to receive calls and immediately answer it.
I need to do this. How do I factory reset for Uconnect? I've searched and can't find instructions. I have a 2015 Chrysler T&C. Help! I'm ready to punch that call announcement lady in the face!
Fun fact this does not always work. Uconnect still tells me there is a text when I get one when I am listening to streaming music over Bluetooth. It is really annoying going into settings and hearing it is off but knowing it isn't. I would NEVER buy this half baked excuse for a nav and sound system. Biggest mistake I made on my Jeep by far.
Need help turning mine back on. I have the u-connect with the upgraded alpine. Not the navigation. My old note 4 worked fine. Then I got my new note 4 and now nothing.
Try this:
press the Uconnect button and say "set up, incoming SMS announcement,"
You will be told that the announcement is on, "would you like to turn the announcement off"? I bet you know the answer here, don't you.
I have this same problem. The system works well, but when I press the phone button, I still have to let it finish the "Incoming call, press uconnect button to answer". It's pretty annoying, as it delays answering the call until it completes the automated message.
I would give almost anything to get rid of the message.

I stopped using the Bluetooth features, as I couldn't handle the extra loud "PHONE CALL COMPLETE" after each incomeing / outgoing text message. I now use my phone on speaker phone and let Cortana interact with me that way. I do miss the way UConnect would dull the stereo volume for texts, but I can do that manually myself.
Phoned UConnect / Chrysler tech support, and the woman sympathized with me, but ultimately couldn't offer any help. Asked they consider a fix for the next software patch.

a rare Windows Phone user, ok I think there is a way to lower that loud volume.
are you using the 730?
in the menu there is a feedback volume setting, I think the lowest it would go is 12 drop it to that, and give it a shot.
Also to get Cortana to place calls for you, hit VR and say Call Cortana, it's an extra step, but at least when you ask she will place the call vs when you ask the VR to call John, the VR ask if you want to call William.
VR is utterly useless, and yes people I did the tutorial training, and if Cortana can understand me, then it's a VR issue not how I'm talking.
Rebooted the phone.
Announcement is still active.
It takes longer to shut off the announcement, with eyes off of the road, as it does to read the text.
they wont delete his stuff. Its a pain in the ass...
Good read. I am having the same frustrations with my 730.
Learned some shortcuts that I will use later today.
I am also not a fan, seems like the more I use it the more I do not like it.
Takes so long after I answer the call for it to actually connect, no excuse for that
Also as other have stated she talks way to much
Yesterday my calls start getting dropped. After 30 second or so I get dumped from Bluetooth.... 20-30 sec later I reconnect.... Then disconnect and it keeps repeating. I reset my phone which didn't help.....
When I go with a aftermarket radio can the ucineect be disconnected?
so after i just had lunch and decided to hangout a little bit more before going back to work. i'm listening to Howard Stern on 130S and browsing this forum on my iphone.
she called and i answered quickly on the phone.. now im saying hello and still the pesky voice incoming call blah blab blah is ongoing!
Tried to do it while driving, said settings and it only said SMS not available. Maybe have to be parked?
