If anyone as a Droid Moto Z Force and a 730n uConnect and can listen to and send SMS through the uConnect, I'd like to know. I keep my phone in my pocket. The uConnect speaker announces the arrival of new SMS messages, but the uConnect mike will not accept/hear my reply to listen to the messages.

Hello all,

I have a 2015 Wrangler with 430 HU with UConnect. It NEVER hears me no matter what I have tried to command it connected to bluetooth or not. I have remote start (nonfactory) and sometimes when I start it through that and get in it brings up the UConnect prompts and no matter how many times I yell cancel at the top of my lungs she just repeats herself and I just have to hit radio or some other button. Is there any way to fix this in general and be able to use it on phone calls? It's like it doesn't even recognize I'm saying anything. It's only phone pairings is my old iPhone 5 and my iPhone 6 that I did over a year ago. Is it a mic issue? It's extremely frustrating.

New to me 2014 Jeep JKU with Uconnect touchscreen. There is a gap below the actual stereo. Is this a factory defect or is it possible someone had the dash apart in the past and didn't put some clips on or screws in the right place?

My 2014 has the same problem. I had the dash apart putting in a backup camera and there really isn't any kind of a clip in that area, so I don't know that there is much that can be done. I know that isn't the kind of thing you want to hear.

This is/was a known problem and has been addressed before. I have a 2014 Sport S. I had thee same thing and the dealer just installed a new bezel he already had on hand. No more gap. I THINK it was just an issue with '14s but I could be wrong.

Is there a way to since the video and audio?

Using Bluetooth, sometimes I watch YouTube or netflix on my phone but through Uconnect the audio is a second or two delayed.

Even my cheap Bluetooth speaker is synced...

Did you ever resolve this? If so, how?

I am having what may be a similar issue:

2017 JKU 430N radio

uConnect) Can answer incoming calls; Cannot Make Calls
Samsung Galaxy S4. Connects automatically via blue-tooth no problem, every time.

When someone calls me, I can either tap Accept on the screen or the phone button(?) and the call is answered and I can have a normal hands free conversation, and hang up with the phone button. No problem. Works every time. People on the other end say audio quality is fine.

The Problem: I cannot seem to make a voice-activated call. I hit the phone button and say "call so and so". It will come back and say "Call so and so, on mobile?" or "at home" (which matches the phone book on the phone), and when I say Yes or Correct, I then get a boop-beep and nothing and that's the end of it. I can pick up the phone and dial it by hand and as soon as the call is initiated, the blue-tooth hands free takes over and the call goes through and is normal in every way. When this same phone is paired to my other car, I can place calls with voice as well as receive them.

I thought I resolved this issue by playing with the pairing profiles in the phone BT setup. There were two listed: Phone and Media. I unchecked and re-checked each, then tested calling in each checked/unchecked condition. After re-checking Phone, it worked. For a day. Then, it stopped working again.

Last night, I did more online research, trying to see what other people thought helped them. Found a guy on a Dodge forum who tried an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect from Uniq Tec and he said it solved his problems.

It was free, so I thought what the heck and grabbed it.

On the drive to work this morning, I was able to make calls via bluetooth. So, I am cautiously optimistic. I will not believe it is really fixed until it works for longer than just one day. Will report back.

sounds like a bad or unplugged mic. I have seen them not fully connected behind the plastic trim near the windshield.

when Uconnect ask you if you want to call......@home or mobile, don't answer with "yes". This isn't a recognized answer, consider the question to be a "which number do you want to call" question. This will happen when you have more than 1 number listed for a person.
So when you hear this question, after you hear the beep, respond with the location that you want to call.

"Yes" is not recognized??? Somehow, that possibility had not occurred to me.

I tried it again this morning. I said "Call so-and-so at Home" and it heard that and repeated it back to me. When I answered "Correct", I got the old beep-boop and it ended, so perhaps "correct" is not recognized, like it is on my Camaro.

I tried again with "Yes" instead of "correct" and it did work and make the call, though. So, maybe "yes" is recognized only in some places in the command chain sequence? Regardless, I will also try it repeating the "Home" (or whatever) and see how that goes. Very confusing.

It has been working today, as well. That makes 2 days in a row. We'll see what tomorrow brings. If I hadn't read posts on various forums by people saying theirs worked for a while and then stopped working, I would think mine was fixed. Maybe it is. I hope so!

I've skimmed this string and did not see the problem I am having.

I have a iPhone 6 running iOS 10.2 and a 2016 JKU Sport-S with a U-connect radio 130. There are frequent times when I try to connect the iPhone via Bluetooth and it just won't. So, as you can guess, since there is no Bluetooth connection, there is no hands free calls and no audio from the iPhone through the vehicle speakers. The U-connect help desk says this is an Apple problem because Apple will not release the source code for U-connect and other vendors to update their applications. Anyone else having this problem and finding a different answer or better yet, a solution?

I have a 2017 JKUWW paired to an iPhone 6 on iOS 10.2....so far I've not had any issues, but I've only had my Willy's for two weeks now.

I have heard that upgrading an iPhone 6 to iOS 10.2.1 has been causing issues with Bluetooth connectivity in some situations. Verify that you're still on iOS 10.2 and roll the phone back if you're not. That might clean up the issue...of course there is always iOS 10.3 waiting around the corner too.

Thanks for the response EN120A. I just upgraded to iOS 10.2.1 figuring it couldn't be any worse. I'm actually thinking about buying the Raxiom OE-Style GPS Navigation System with Back-up Camera which replaces the radio/DVD/Sat.

I was out today making a number of stops. So far, 10.2.1 seems to connect more reliably for me, it's not perfect, but fewer Bluetooth connection problems.

Have you tried "Reset Network Settings" on your iPhone? Maybe unpair the Uconnect from your iPhone first, then Reset Network Settings, then pair Uconnect again.

Usually that fixes my iPhone Bluetooth woes (albeit, with other systems ... I'm not having the same issue with Uconnect with iOS 10.x, but I have other audio issues as others are).

Rocky, I have not tried. I didn't pursue any additional troubleshooting after U-connect's help desk told me it's a known problem caused by limitations in the level of source code Apple will share with 3rd party app developers.

I suppose it can't hurt anything to give it a try, except maybe stop connecting at all, in which case I would get to find out if rolling back to 10.2 work.

I'm sure this has already been covered but just so everyone is clear: the hackers needed physical access to the Jeep's computer first. And they said later that it was actually pretty hard to do that part--they had to remove part of the dash.

The guy who was driving the hacked Jeep volunteered to be a part of the test. It wasn't like they just chose some random Jeep driver and went back to their troll hole and tried to kill him. Also, it just happened that they did this on a new Cherokee model--which means that all cars with newer computers are likely at the same (equal) risk as the Cherokee.

And, if I may, I'm no conspiracy theorist but it would be pretty smart (and evil) for a competing brand to commission such a test on a new line of cars. Just saying. People have done worse things. However, you mess with Jeeps you mess with me.

This worked for me as well. And yes, it was annoying until i figured it out. Your Jeep is currently in what is called "Parade Mode". One click back and you'll be fine.

I have a 2015 JKU that I purchased used last month. It has Uconnect and the 130S head unit. Like others, my bluetooth drops out for a few seconds and then resumes superfast until it's caught up.

It does appear to be an iOS 10 issue, because I have had similar bluetooth drop outs with the Pioneer head unit I installed in my previous car. And my wife's 2015 RAV4 also has drop outs.

If you are experiencing this issue, please file a bug report with Apple here:
Feedback - iPhone - Apple

If we all report this bug, it may be enough for them to pay attention.

Here are the details I submitted:

Car 2: 2015 Toyota RAV4 with factory touch screen head unit
Car 3: 2015 Jeep Wrangler with factory 130S head unit with Uconnect

In all 3 vehicles, the bluetooth audio will drop out for a few seconds and then resume. In the Jeep, when it drops the audio, it resumes the audio in fast forward trying to "catch up" with where it should be.

I never had this issue with our iPhone 6S when they were running iOS 9.x. This appears to be an iOS 10.x issue.

Previous 2016 Wrangler (RIP) with Alpine head unit and uconnect... had zero issues with connecting Note Edge (Note 4) or with iPhone 7Plus.

Now, 2017, same head unit (albeit new), zero issues with voice recognition. Am having long delay between hitting Accept button for incoming calls, and it actually transferring from the phone. It will continue to ring via uconnect, but has answered my phone (it stops ringing immediately).

Anyone?

Have not tried unpairing the phone and re-pairing.
