For the last few months, when I turn off the car and turn it back on, the thumb drive in uconnect 430n has been starting from the first song instead of remembering where it stopped (I even have to reselect the shuffle option). Anyone else experience this? I can't seem to find any answer online on how to fix it.

Hello tazh and welcome to the forum. What year is your jeep and what software version are you running on the 430N?

I've had a couple problems: It gets stuck on Phone Volume, you have to let the radio set with the power off for a hwile and it will fix it'self

Bluetooth stops working until I reboot the phone and sometimes have to restart Jeep.

I have a 2015 JKUHR with the 730N Uconnect system. I have three music folders on the hard drive. I know that I can copy Mp3s to the HD and then name a folder to hold them. However, can I copy Mp3s to an existing folder? It seems that I can only copy the music files into a new folder. Thanks.

The only way I has successfully managed folders is to delete and re-create. I have a 8Gb thumbdrive I use to keep a folder current. I plug the thumbdrive into my PC and add files to the folder on my PC and then copy it to the existing folder on the thumbdrive. I then delete the folder on the 730 and re-install it from the thumbdrive.

You cannot assign music as it is uploaded to separate folders. By default, it will put them all in the root directory.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was doing. I have to check, but I believe that you can assign Favorites from your music files. If you can segregate Favorites into categories, like Favorites 1, 2, etc., perhaps you can add a file to the root of the drive and then assign it to Favorites 1. It may be more work than just deleting a folder and recreating it to include a new songs.

Same here, I was wondering if it had anything to do with the l.e.d. Headlights I installed

I just started to have issues with mine and it seems that whenever I use my navigation it will keep dialing and then state "phone call completed" repeatedly.... Then other times after it gives directions it doesn't go back to playing music and just hangs there..... 2015 JK....

Nvm mind my stupid question. I'm an idiot. I figured out how to stream my music through Bluetooth now. I have to go to Aux. then select Devices.

I have a '15 JK, and have noticed that while streaming Pandora through the Bluetooth after I get a text message the music slows down a bit. I'm not sure what causes this but if you hit the backward skip button on the steering wheel, the tempo picks up again to normal speed without disrupting the current song. Anyone else notice this issue?

Is there a website where I can find the most recent firmware/software for my UConnect system? I just want to make sure I have the most recent / stable version. Sometimes the system can be a bit quirky.

I have the UConnect 130 with bluetooth in my 2015 sport. I have turned off the SMS announcement in the settings and double checked to make sure it is off, but the damn thing still announces every. single. text. Really annoying when I'm listening to music. Anybody had this issue?

Only bright spot is that it is kind of funny hearing the robot lady mispronounce my friends' names

Hey guys, are there any known issues with bluetooth or the USB connector in the center console and iOS9 and/or the new iPhone 6s? I'm thinking of making a switch from Android and want to know if there are any potential things to look out for. I don't the 430 or 730, just the basic 1xx radio with the Satellite module in it so I don't think Uconnect can be updated. Oh, and my Jeep is a 2012 if it matters. Mostly I just use bluetooth for streaming audio (music & navigation) and phone calls right now.

Is it worth getting the UConnect feature in a 2016 model, or is it better to just install an after market system?

I had trouble getting my iPhone 6+ to connect to the 430N in my new 2015 Jeep. The problem is that the phone did not see the Uconnect for pairing - try after try. The VR system finally changed the prompts (not sure what I did) and when the Uconnect finally popped up on the BT screen of the iPhone it connected with no problem.

With the iPhone plugged in I use "Hey Siri" and the prompts from Siri come through the Jeep audio system allowing me to use Siri to help answer text messages etc.

I've had Uconnect for two years now.

I had regular problems with the calls dropping, and then I got rid of the Blackberry, and switched to an Iphone. No more dropped calls. One thing I do miss is that Uconnect would alert me and read my Blackberry text messages. Uconnect cannot do this with Iphones, if I recall correctly.

Here's just a general Uconnect radio quirk. I have the direct hook up to my Ipod Classic. I have probably 20,000 Itunes, and my Ipod classic is only half full. I have to limit the amount of songs to exactly 17,000 on the Ipod classic. If I go over 17,000, Uconnect freezes indefinitely.

Also this is my second Uconnect radio. The first one died after about 2 months.

Overall, I enjoy the radio.

Screen goes dark

I just picked up my jeep and I am a newby to this whole thing. I took off the other day on a dirt road near my house that I had been wanting for follow for years. The road was narrow with tight turns at places so I turned on my headlights.

At one point I realized that the navigation screen was blank. What had happened was the 401n screen had dimmed when I turn on my lights. Does anyone know how to disable the auto dimming so I can run with my lights on and see the navigation screen?

You can disable it in settings and manually adjust it.

i have the 430n on my 2015 and own an iPhone 5s. I've had many issues with it since last year:

- Bluetooth crashing on the uConnect half way through a conversation
- Bluetooth crashing when flipping through songs in iTunes (using steering wheel controls or uConnect controls)
- uConnect system randomly shuts off (happened twice)

I've had it checked twice at the dealership, they checked the ground and firmware... couldn't find any issues and offered me a print out from chrysler canada explaining issues with iPhones... which really didn't explain anything other than placing the blame on Apple.

So all that said, pretty disappointing. Seems as though i'm not the only one with issues (thank god for forums like this)... A buddy of mine recently swapped his uConnect system for the Pioneer 7100NEX and it looks and fits perfectly and has CarPlay for us Apple users... i'm likely switching to that soon

Ok, I'm going to answer my own question. There are two controls on the ligting lever on the left of the steering column. The outer controls the outside lights. Then inner controls the dash board lights (including the dim level of the screen). When in "auto" it dims the dashboard and 430 screen "automatically" meaning it will dim them when you turn the lights on (assuming it is dark outside). You can swivel this to select a specific brightness and hence override the dimming caused by turning on the outside lights.

You can also set perimeters on screen through menu button.
This uconnect thing is terrible, my Samsung s4 won't connect a lot of the time. I have to pair them and wait for them to agree to work together. My wife's VW is more than happy to pick and start playing Pandora whenever I sit in her car. OH I GET IT, U connect ,like you have connect it every fricken time!

Do you have to have the Uconnect activated in order for a Smart phone and Bluetooth to work?

The Uconnect system in these vehicles are not the new Uconnect Access which needs to be activated. As long as you have Uconnect installed you will be able to pair a phone for calls & streaming audio.
Thank you Sir.

I don't have MM yet but I'd delete the pairing of the phone to Uconnect and Uconnect from the phone, reboot the phone by holding the power button till the menu appears, select "restart" and let the phone reboot. Then I'd go thru a fresh pairing session to see if that helps.
That is what I had to do for my wife's Note 4. I deleted all the pairings and just did another pairing. It resolved all her issues.
