Under coating a jeep

Hi Has anyone under coating their own jeep? Just got a used 2010 Jeep and just was thinking the best way to save some cash on the under coating.
Is the cans any good and how many do does it take to get the job done. Anyways what the best way to under coat it? thanks.

when i dent the skids, i usually just spray some flat black rattle can on it and call it good.

Some previous threads dealing with that topic (there's an interesting product at the end of the 2nd link...check it out):

Rustoleum Bedliner on Undercarriage
How do you prevent rust???
Undercoating???

For the record, my undercarriage is bare naked. I believe it's a battle you can't win. But, as usual, I could be wrong.

If you live in the salt states, use por24 initially then use a wet undercoat yearly

I'm not planing on undercoating my Jeep but I run the maintenace dept at a dry chemical plant and we use 3M undercoating #08881 in the rattle can. Works and holds up very well in this environment. You could undercoat the crap out of a Jeep with about 3 cans I would think. Good luck.

I just got the dealer to undercoat and rustproof the Jeep. Coated everything including the diffs. Looks good!
I had my Corolla done 6 years ago by the same guys and it's still looking great. I thought about doing it myself but with all the mess, overspray and stuff I let someone else do it.
Some say it's no good but I think my vehicles are better off with it then without in this northern enviroment with salt roads and ocean spray!
