Under Seat Security Box

Is there any options for those of us with the 2012 two door sport S? Looking at both the Bestop and Tuffy boxes, It seems neither will work. Looking under the drivers seat, there is a bar running across the front of the seat bracket that will prevent any instillation.(not the removable bracket under the seat.) Any options out there I don't know about.

Yeah, I ordered the Tuffy, but reading the description again it sounds like it wont fit. I wont know that for sure until it's delivered on the 10th.

bad news, i emailed tuffy to see if it would fit my 2013 wrangler, and they said they don't fit 12's or 13's because it has a brace going across or something....sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Quadratec has both the Bestop and Tuffy, neither appear to fit in the 11-12 2 door models.

Tuffy offers center console options, as well as Glove box and overhead. Aside from the overhead, these options dont offer additional storage.

Yeah, that seems to be the verdict. May look at the dimensions, cut and round the edges of that cross beam, and stuff the box in there. As long as the cross beam don't look to critical.

Bestop

Passenger side would appear to fit. I ordered one from Q-tec last week but it's backordered thru March.

I have the driver's side box collecting dust in my garage if anyone's interested. Had the dealership yank it out of my '07 when I traded it in.

That's why I went with the Tuffy.

My Bestop for the JK installed just fine on the 2012 JKUR. I had to remove 2 small bolts and take out a braket on the side of the seat and then it slid right in. I expected it to work, since the 2012 is listed on Bestop's web page as being compatable. I have noticed that many vendors do not update their descriptions each year, making it look like the new models are not compatable. Of course this is easily resolved by checking the part number to the manufacters information.

the unlimiteds have no compatibility issues. it is the 2 doors that have the issue because of the fold and tumble seat.

You have a 4 door. This issue is with the 2 doors.

Since the seats between the 2 dr and 4 dr should be fairly similar, it may be possible to cut the bar in the 2 dr to make the box fit as long as you dont use the slide and tilt feature much. I think some members have done this. i have a 2 dr and use a GunVault, but would really prefer a sliding Bestop or Tuffy. Probably go and look at the 4 dr seats and see how they differ since I took out my rear seat anyways, so need for the s and t feature.

I like the bestop, but it sticks out a little under the seat. Is there a box that is set back so it is totally hidden by the seat? Yes, this would offer less room for storage. Thanks

ugh!

The information is correct. I bought the Tuffy for my 12 JK. I ended up returning it. I asked here, but didn't get any replies. I'm wondering if a junk yard JKU seat would bolt on properly on my JK. My backseat has been out of my Jeep since the first week of purchase.

Will the seat rest at the same height or will it be raised and if so how much?
