Underhood liner?

I am trying to reduce the underhood heat and was wondering if the liner holds the heat in? The JKs seem to be very hot in the engine compartment. Can't afford a AEV hood, need cheap ideas.

Yes, a liner would hold the heat in, making it hotter.

Don't you thnk that Chrysler new that ??

The hood insulation is multi purpose-

It shields hood/paint/hinge's from intense heat "RISING"-

It insulates/retains engine compt heat for the use of "block" heaters in COLD CLIMATE-

It reduces the transmission of engine "NOISE"

If you think that all that's stupid, or harms the engine--

Good luck

This. Plus it's only standard on the Sahara and Rubicon so run without it if you want. I think it's fine. Keeping it isn't going to cause a problem.

There is no harm with the temperature under your hood. Your engine is designed to run at that temperature.
