So does this just happen when trying to take the doors off? My JK is a week old and I'd like to avoid this happening when I try to take my doors off in a couple days. Could you just leave the strap in place until you get the door off the hinges so this doesn't happen? once you take the doors off the strap goes back in place right, to stop this from happening?

All you have to do is hold your door as your disconnecting the strap. It's all about control.

You asian women like control, right?

Why is everyone scared? It's common sense. The strap keeps the door from hitting the fender. If you undo the strap, you need to hold onto the door so it doesn't hit the fender. It's not rocket science.

Btw, I only have one dimple. My son was helping me and he let go.

It wasn't my fault!

That^

The first time, it happened on a very hot day and that evening, it popped back on its own. The second time, well, not so lucky. I'm sure worse things are ahead on the trail or in parking lots.
