unlimited soft top open positions?

Hey all,

Sorry if this is a newb and stupid question but in regards to the Unlimited Soft Top, what are the open positions one can safely do?

In other words does the top HAVE to be all the way down or can one simply fold it open to the latch? And aside from that, any other safe variations without it being all the way down and all three windows zipped off? Ideally I'll keep it all the way down with the windows off but I'm just wanting to know what other options I have.

This evening after getting it cleaned up I lifted and folded the top open but I'm worried with it sitting up and being pushed against the wind when moving.

Thanks
David

This video should explain how to partially open the top with the sunrider thingy: My Jeep: 2008 Jeep Wrangler Soft Top Guide
As for the windows you can take them off or leave them on when the tops up it doesn't matter.

With the top open to the sunrider position, the windows should be out according to the manual. Not doing so at highway speeds will put too much pressure on the top. May not blow out the first time you do it but it could cause problems down the road.

Actually it's just the rear window. I have found that just unzipping the sides of the rear window works YMMV. This is directly from the manual:

NOTE:
If you are going to be driving faster than 40 mph
(64 km/h) with the Sunrider

feature open, it is recommended
that you remove the rear window of the vehicle.

In regards to riding like this, above. Do you all ever have problems with the rear top corner sections coming loose and start flapping and waving in the wind? I tried the above the other day and that happened to me. I ended up having to take the top all the way down (not that that's a bad thing) but sometimes the sunrider position is my conducive.

Thanks

The corners can come loose if you have not properly adjusted or installed the top. However driving at 65mph will change everything! I have cruised around 50mph with the front top peeled back and the rear window removed, no problems other than going slightly deaf!
