I remember back in 2013 that the touchscreen in the jk was an older touchscreen model and was not the one that was used in the grand Cherokee. For that reason I thought opting for the touchscreen was not worth it and just decided to use a suction cup handheld gps. Have they updated the touchscreen in the jks to have a newer model like the Cherokee?
Jeep isn't about to spend that much in R&D for an older design. The only hope would be for such to appear on the JL and JT models in a couple of years.
No they have not. The Cherokee and Grand Cherokee have the option of the 8.4A or 8.4AN which is the Harmon 8.4 inch screen system.
The only option for the JK and JKU remains the 430N of you want factory Nav.
I doubt the JL will have the 8.4A or 8.4AN option either as the renegade doesn't. It has a 5.0 or 6.5AN. Both are lower end systems that will be an easier and less expensive system to integrate into the dash.
I really like the GC SRT touchscreen, my JK not so much. I'm probably going to yank it and put something else in. I'd really like something running android that can do XM cleanly.
