Loading music is a slow tedious process if you're wanting to use Apple iTunes. You have to burn your music to numerous CD-R discs and insert discs one by one into your Jeep CD and download the music from disc. It takes a long time....but you only have to do it once....until you decide to add more songs.

Put them all on a big flash drive. It's still slow copying, but you don't have to deal with burning a bunch of cd's.

I tried the flash drive it will not recognize the songs. Due to iTunes or something. The songs are loaded up on the flash drive but when I plug it in nothing shows up.

MyGig does not play AAC music from iTunes. Only WMA or MP3. You can also burn from the original audio CD by simply inserting the CD into the player. I could do about 1 CD every 10 minutes, I did about 3 CDs every trip to/from work. I never listen to them because I prefer the variety of Sirius radio. Another option is to play the iTunes music on an iPod conneted to the radio via a headphone cable, or install the iPod interface cable which connects the radio using the iPod USB connector, and then the radio controls the iPod. The cable is about $80 from mopar.com (or the dealer) and is an easy install.

$80 you say? The dealer down the road quoted me $300...they don't get my business any more for other reasons, good to know it was the right choice.

Unfortunately it's a bit annoying. If you're familiar with iTunes it's not to bad, just convert all the files you want to MP3, and put those files on a flash drive, and plug it into your Jeep. It's really easy.

The one thing that sucks BAD, is that the hard drive puts them in alphabetical order in each artist. This means you can't listen to a certain album, or listen to it straight through or anything. It's really annoying. I've tried so many things, and can't figure it out.

I wish it was a little less painless, and a little more smart.

When you burn one CD at a time, (without names and titles), MyGIG will store the songs in the order that you loaded them. You can then either play back songs in random mode or if you know the page that a certain CD is on...you can go to that page and play the songs of that CD in a row.

Man I forgot what a PITA iTunes files are. I was a long-time iTunes user, but switched to Amazon mp3. 256kbps DRM-free mp3's for about the same price. Check it out.

iTunes lets you download to mp3 now? I didn't know that. Smart move to prevent losing ALL their customers (like me) to Amazon mp3.

Kind of a pain but what if you created a file and put numbers in front of the titles and tricked the Jeep that way? Maybe you can invent some new way to add songs the way you like it. I am not sure.

I got the cheap stereo so I have to listen to my IPod through the aux jack.

About everybody saying you need a special cord I am not sure what it does, but I got a double-sided headphone jack cord at Radio Shack for two bucks. (Maybe the dealer one does something different)

The "special cord" plugs into The iPod USB port and allows the radian to control the iPod and also charges it. Using a male to male headphone cord. Is also a cheap and easy solution. Enjoy.
