USB download

Hey guys, 2010 Sahara Wrangler. Trying to use USB stick to download music to MyGig. Copying them from itunes to USB stick but Only about half of the songs I have on the USB stick are actually downloading to MyGig. Have enough memory left to complete full transfers but its not happening.

Any thoughts? Anyone?

What software version are you using? I believe the latest is v2.302. You could try upgrading to see if it fixes the problem.

from what I have been told, any music you purchase thru itunes will not transfer. I think it's apples copyright files.

I am not an expert, but I had the same problem. The manual says that MPEG4 files are not compatible with the MyGig. Itunes uses the MPEG4 format. You will have to download the songs from iTunes to a CD and change the format to one that is compatible. I stopped buying from itunes because of this. I finished making changes to my 2010 Sahara sound system and tried loading songs from a memory stick, which locked up the whole system when I tried to play them. The only way that I could get the system to clear itself was to plug in my ipod to the extenal jack and the system would clear itself. Have now loaded all my music from CDs (what a pain).
The changes that I made are:
Switched out the RES radio for an RBZ
Added Uconnect with ipod adapter
Added a parkview camera from a 2010 Commander
Everything went together and works well except the camera which was a royal pain to get figured out.
Once I got it sorted it all works great. I really like the RBZ ($250 on e-bay for the latest model) as it is much cheaper than the RER and I don't need the nav feature that the RBZ lacks.

Hope this helps someone and maybe those who know a lot more than I do can chime in.

Just download a free file converter and ensure all your music files are wma or mp3 format. Then you shouldn't have anymore problems

This may also be useful for converting from within iTunes:

Whenever I buy from iTunes, I convert immediately to mp3 within iTunes and delete the originals. You also have to set imported CDs to be mp3. The files in the iTunes store are no longer "protected", but are still a proprietary format.

Yeah, i discovered that was the problem. Mygig ONLY downloads MP3. Had to convert all mhy itunes to MP3 format and some of the songs i had downloaded before were "protected" by itunes, they cannot be reformatted into MP3 so i have had to delete them from my USB stick. All works now. Bloody complicated though

There is software out there that can help you "unprotect" your music, but that wouldn't be in the sport of this forum.

What have we got?
