Used JKU Inspection

I've done several searches but have not found one to address this particular matter (if you are familiar of one, please post the link). I am going to look at a 2008 JKU with 63K on it this weekend. This will be my first Jeep purchase. I have purchased many cars, trucks and motorcycles throughout the years but never a Jeep. Please provide some guidance as to what things I should be paying attention to when inspecting the JKU that a rookie may not be aware of (i.e. particular engine/transmission sounds, electrical issues specific to the JKU, etc.). The vehicle has a clean Carfax but I am spending hours on this forum a day trying to educate myself prior to the purchase.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

-D

JP magazine had an issue about buying used Wranglers. May be able to find it on their website.

One thing that stuck out from that issue was about the JK's was the sloppy paint coverage.

Saw that on a brand new 2014 Sahara JK at the door hinges.

Buy it new, buy it used, you may not have the section under the hinges painted. Not really an issue of used wranglers.

This may provide some help,

While you are under it. Look at the underside of the control arms and brackets. And the skids. Hard off road use will show up there.
