They obviously look brighter, but do they shine better on the ground/behind you for backing up? I'd like to see other pictures showing what they actually light up on the ground please.

I have these in my JK and they are bright. They are not nearly as bright as those rigids in the above photos, but bright enough to see where I am backing up in pitch black darkness.
Going to give these a try. Looks like a solid improvement to the OEM backup lights.

I am going for the 29 buck Ebay lights just for fun. If they work, cool. If not, I will try to remember not to look at this sight on Saturday night

Does anybody know of a Canbus compatible LED for use as a brake/turn in the stock housing? I know there are Canbus LEDs out there, but I haven't found anything conclusive about fast flash in a Jeep. If no one knows for sure, I might just take the plunge and report my findings.

I'm wondering if these might be an option:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...ed-tower/1263/

It states in the description that they have resistors built in. Maybe that is all we'd need.

Try them and report back. Would be great if they worked. Remember, you need red ones and not any other color for brake lights.

I would like to, but I don't have the money right now to be the guinea pig for this idea. Unless they allow you to return them for a full refund....

I'll have to look and see what their return policy is.

Damn. I just saw a note that says the built-in resistor will not eliminate the turn signal hyper flash issue. Darn it!

I put the ebay bulbs in and they definitely light up the area behind the jeep. I can see when backing up finally. It's not like the area is flooded with light but there is enough to see by.

You can see the light output is incredible!
Where did you get the Rigid Industries 65 degree lights? I would like to try that.

+1 I just put in my Saturday night purchase and I am super pleased. Brighter than I thought they would be. Easy swap and under $30 bucks.

Here is a iphone shot of the ebay LEDs from the drivers rear corner. Spare tire on left side of picture. Garbage can is about 5 feet back on passengers side. No other light back there.

They look really bright for the money. I like them. Just one other thing I was wondering. When using those LEDs do the dash lights show a burned out bulb warning due to the lower power they use. Thanks

Cool. Thanks. I think I'll pick some up. I wouldn't mind getting some red ones for the brake lights as well.

Well, considering a 99 isn't a JK jeep, you would have trouble. Find the right bulb size and search for them on ebay....or post up the proper bulb size and I will find the bulbs for you.
