What exactly if the effect of the projector lens? Would something cheaper like this be sufficient? I could get brake and reverse lights for the same price if I don't need a projector lens.

The main topic of this thread was for 'backup lights' that will assist in illumination. Not just for cosmetic reasons.

The projector LED's seem to focus the white light better and help light up the background much better than the stock bulbs.

I don't want them for cosmetic reasons at all, so I'll go for a projector lens for the reverse lights and the cheaper version for the brake lights (so others can see me better). Thanks.

I havent been able to find any brake light LED's that work correctly for the JK. The JK uses a brake/signal combo bulb. And as far as I know a regular LED bulb will fit and light up but the signal may hyperflash without a resistor.

If you find any that works let me know. I want to exchange mine out as well.

Damn, I forgot the brake lights were the same as turn signals. I may try a cheapo pair though since I have amazon gift card money in my account. How much $ and trouble are resistors? Don't some LEDs have a built in resistor?

Wow, I ordered a set of LED's somewhere else and didn't get that kind of improvement over the stocks. I just submitted an offer of 24.99 - I'll see if they take it.

You'll be happy that you did. They are an impressive improvement for very, very little time or money. I spend more than that at the theater!

Just wondering if anybody found a 3157 LED Bulb for the Tail lights that will work without the hyperflash. Also is there a LED light that looks good and bright in the tail light fixture at a good price. I also just purchased the Reverse lights Leds.

Had one burn out early, but I bought another pair because they work so well. Could have been my fault since I'm always playing with stuff...

Received my CREE 5W bulbs. Didn't put them in this weekend because the Bodyarmor light guards are such a pain to remove. Probably will do it this weekend. Thanks for the pics of the options, Brycero. Of course, my wife thinks I'm nuts now....
