Keep dreaming. If a diesel ever comes something closer to 2.5 liters would be more realistic

5.0 liter diesel? Naw that be a big' O motor under the hood for a Wrangler. All I could find was talking about shoving it in GM's Flag ship SUV the 'Burban!?

Ram 1500 V8 diesel: 2013 civilian launch at Allpar Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep News

Maybe all of a sudden they cut campaign funding to that "Meet Max and Al" staring the Duramax and Allison transmission (aka Elaines on again of again from sinfield, and Craig Robinson from Hot Tub TM) is GM dropping the Duramax?

Thats the question I see here....

a 4bt is more than enough diesel for any size wrangler and at 3.9L @ 750lbs
compared to "ole trusty" inline 4.0L @ 450lbs

again GM getting the cummins rumor?

if the RAM 1500 gets a small diesel, there is a slight chance of it going into the Wrangler... but I don't see it being more than a 4.0L in size... hell the CRD Cherokee from a couple of years back only had a 3.0L V6 diesel from Benz in it.

I heard it was a 12 cylinder opposing piston two stroke diesel. But I'm deaf in one ear.

Holy crap, do you think if I chip my 4 banger, I could do this? Or would I need a throttle body spacer too?

Yep, I have one. It's a 2.8 litre Common Rail Diesel (CRD) built by VW I believe. It's basically a high pressure fuel rail diesel and turbo induction. I achieve 28mpg which for a diesel engine is low but what it lacks in mpg, it makes up for in grin factor.

I seriously doubt it will ever happen, after all Jeep available room is minimal at best already. I mean, where are they gonna strap on the urea tank?

LMFAO. A V8 in a Wrangler is enough of a stretch. A diesel V8 will NEVER happen. The Wrangler would lose much of its nimbleness off road with all that iron over the front wheels.

Your correct, just Goggled and came up with VM Motari. Not sure where I got VW from other than an upside down 'M' is a 'W'.

Ha ha yea it came out as a run-on sentence. Lumberjack Popcorn Lever!

What I meant was this new commercial campaign I don't see anymore and read that rumor that GM was going to start shoving cummins under the hood.

All I know is "Max" is elaines boyfriend from sienfield
and "Al" had himself some fun on Hot Tub Time Machine.

I've never seen this one on TV

Ahh! I hadn't seen the commercial. That makes more sense.

Sorry for the interruption. Please continue with your regularly scheduled programing. I believe you were discussing the never-ending dream of a big diesel engine?
