Valvoline Maxlife 5W-20 = Quieter 3.8?

This isn't intended to be another oil thread but rather a question for anyone who has had this experience: I've been having my oil changed on my 2K10 JKUI at the dealer since it was bought, but I always thought the engine sounded crappy and I was using about 1 quart per 3,500 miles.

Had oil changed today and put in Maxlife 5W-20 (I had asked for 5W-30). I paid special attention when starting it up and driving off, and the engine seems quieter.

Is this placebo, or has anyone had the same experience?

I can't answer specifically in regards to Valvoline, but I don't think it's a placebo effect because I also noticed my engine was quieter immediately after switching last week from Pennzoil Platinum synthetic to Castrol Edge (or whatever their syn is dubbed these days). My wife even noticed and commented about it, so I know I ain't imaginin' things!

OP, some oils have better oil flow characteristic's, verses others. So, what you are hearing is a real possibility at start up!

OP, with your permission, this could be the start of a great OIL WAR, AND I LOVE THEM, SO LET'S DO IT...............

Did my first oil change on 2013 at 1,531 miles

Drove it home 498 miles and was going to do it then. Just got around to it.

Put in Castrol Edge 5w-20...now this is the best damn oil AND it meets Chrysler specs.....so there Ha Ha Mobil 1
