Vanity Plates for Your Jeep?

Picked up my 2012 JK 2 weeks ago and I want to get a good vanity plate for it.

Here in New York State you can go on line and enter a plate and it will tell you if it is available. Unfortunately every suggestion I have entered that has JEEP somewhere in the name is taken. I swear there must be a million Jeep owners in NYS, all with vanity plates

So I was wonder how many people here have vanity plates and what they say so I can get some new ideas to try on the NYS DMV site. Thanks.

JC

I come from a long line of Italians that lack imagination and creativity so I have the same name as my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. That's makes me the IV th.

Personally I am not a fan of vanity plates but when I got my Jeep last year I toyed with the idea of getting one. The process to get one in TX is the same and I had to make several attempts before I found something not taken. I ended up not getting one but I was going to go with 2013JKU. Kind of boring but it was available. Much easier if you keep the word Jeep out of it but find something Jeep related.

Alabama has a system online where you can check and see what's available or taken ahead of time. Helped me out as a few of my vehicles have vanity plates.

I've always wanted vanity plates, but never had a vehicle that seemed to warrant them before now. I had fun playing with the plate generator online and finally found one that is perfect and was available. Just keep playing with it until you just know you've got it right. This is mine. Several meanings behind it...love ROCKS!, Jeeps love rocks, it's Rock Lobster in color and I'm naming her Foxy Roxy. Roxie is also my sister's name and I love her. lol Can't wait until they come in. 😁

They aren't too bad if you buy several years up front. They offer 5 and 10 year deals. I think the 10 year comes out to only $60 a year.

I've thought about having a vanity plate, but with my specialty type of plate it isn't an option. if I did ever get one I was thinking of;

The ones from myplates.com are expensive, initially. I'm not sure if the other type (for organizations/causes/donations/war vets, etc.) is as much in the end, it definitely wasn't at first. I have a Texas Rangers plate with custom lettering and I pay $120'ish a year. The initial cost was only the extra fee ($52) since I had already renewed for that year at the time I ordered.

But $600 is a lot of mod money to tie up in a vanity plate.

myplates.com is where I got mine and as long as you buy the multi year packages, they are very reasonable. If you just buy one year, they are $200! Crazy high!

Yeah, in Florida you used to pay $50 to get the plate printed and then it was like $10 extra a year to keep it. I don't see my plate enough to make it worth it to me. I'd rather spend them money on more fun things!

I love your tag line! Did you order the sticker from pixeldecals?

Yes! But, since I'm a huge Star Wars nerd and my Jeep has a SW theme going, I asked them do a custom one with a pic of Chewie instead of the girl they have on theirs.

Heh... That's awesome!

I posted something once about having jeep hair and someone said I had to prove it with pics. I uploaded a picture of Chewie that looked like he had been in a wind storm on Tatooine.

Here's mine. My favorite place is the Outer Banks of NC so mine is in recognition of NC Highway 12:

When I buy a JKU, I'm going to get custom plates that say BTL EATR (Beetle Eater). It's a nod to the fact that my other ride is a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle, and also kind of represents the rugged nature of the Wrangler
