vin locations

i recently bought an abandon jk from a towing company all the vin numbers that i know of have been removed- the one on the frame rail,dash,and both stickers ..are there any other locations i can check i would like to know so that i can obtain a titel

I didn't think that YOU did something shady- it just strikes me as suspicious that someone would remove all the VIN markings.

Why would all the VIN's be removed? I've never heard of that before...did they grind them off the frame as well?

The city auctioned it off without a VIN number listed on the deed of sale?

from what i can find out the towing company was called out to get it out of a farmers field no one ever tried to come pick it up when they had held it for the appropriate amount of time they tried to sell it it,, no vins "stolen for shure" they contacted the state they cam took a quck look at it and couldnt tell where it came from ,so they approved the sale of it as bill of sale only at the impound auction that the city moderates

Most engines will have a VIN stamped somewhere on the engine block.
