Viper install ?

The tech pulled me in and questioned the fitment of these wheels. I guess they are not hub-centric.

I thought these wheels were hub-centric

Look at the space around the center of
The hub and the wheel.
He said it can mess up or break the lugs.

True-false ?

What do I need to do?

I know nothing about hub centric wheels, but I just put out a call for you. Help should arrive momentarily.

JKUknowit's got those same wheels, right? Don't recall him having any issues.

Seems like I have heard that DTD offers hub rings, but not certain on that. If they do, then I imagine that any DT location should be able to get them as well. Now, whether they have them in stock in an entirely different question. The vast majority of aftermarket wheels are lug centric.

FALSE --FALSE--FALSE-

The lug studs have been carrying the load for over 100 years-

All the wheels gotta do is "CLEAR" the hubs, the more clearance, the better--

It's AOK !Just make sure the lug nuts have a tapered base!

To add to my original post, I agree with Jimbo. My wheels are not hub centric either, but have had no issues with them.

Now ask if you can have a free set of km2s for your good friend here just for the emotional stress you suffered today.

Oops didn't even respond to the question here. The MB72s I have are not hub centric either. No worries as both DTD and many others have said that the weight is never on the lugs so it doesn't matter.

Yeah, my Black Rocks aren't hub centric either.

Very few aftermarket wheels are. For jeeps, AEVs are about the only ones I know of.

Your lug nuts are sloped to center themselves in the holes. (Hence the tapered base mentioned by Jimbo.) When they all do that, it centers the wheel on the hub.

Only becomes an issue if your lugs are loose, but it would be an issue at that point even of you had hub centric wheels. In other words--it's a non-issue. It sounds like your installer is used to OEM wheels.

That's how I understand it anyway.

Hub Centric started in Europe over 70 years ago, at the "24 hrs of LeMans"--

The European race cars use a "HubCentric" wheel--THAT DIDN'T HAVE LUG STUDS--

They used a center hub/w fine threads and a BIG three winged wing nut, that had right hand threds on the left side and left hand threads on the drivers side (right), my Lotus Esprit hadem that way !

It's a jungle out there-

Looks great Ken! Time to cut that pinch seam though. Even if you don't stand a chance of touching it, it would still look better/safer. lol. Bet you are glad to finally have them on!

Holy jeez, that's a lot of rubber.

Not exactly a speed demon anymore? Is it most noticeable on the take offs themselves, the highway acceleration, etc.?

Yes, take off I feel it most. Rpms raise a lot
slower. Highway cruising is ok once you get going. I pretty much stay in the slow lane anyhow. Most of my driving is city. A good days driving would be taxing. I don't think ima be at 4.10 for long
I have money set asid. Just finding the time since i work a lot and a rep shop to do the work is a problem.

Thanks for the compliments

Your pinch seam actually looks like it's closer to your tire than mine was...hard to tell without a closeup. Either way, looks better with it gone, IMO. And you'll sleep better.
