nothing wrong with a sahara special edition. the sahara is the luxury version of the wrangler; the special editions are all fluff. so the sahara is the natural choice for which of the wranglers to put the fluff on. kinda excited to see what the package entails; i love a good orange!

I know, I just would like to see one availiable on the Sport. I don't want a hard top, so no options other than the $$$ MW3 edition, which I am also not really interested in. Not a big deal, just was hoping it would be availaible to those interested in soft tops and half doors is all.

The Mountain and Islander editions from 2010 were based on Sports.

And can the Sahara not be had with a soft top? I've never heard that.

No you can get a soft top of the sahara, I'm just a little out of it today. I meant I wanted half doors.

Ahh, yeah, that'd be cool.

Pretty sure the Islander from 2010 could be had with half doors, but that's about it.

All the other special editions I can think of recently have been on Saharas or Rubis. The Mountain was a Sport, but included most (or all?) of the S package as part of the edition, so you automatically got power locks/windows--no half door Mountains.

I hear that every time you open the door, that the intro to Jimmy Buffets "Volcano" starts to play until you start it up....

After the Artic, I figured they'd come out with a "summer" special addition. Thought it might be the nautic version though.

Not a fan of all these "special edition" Wranglers personally.

Does the Yeti or Black Ops high price tag justify it's X model off road ability?
Sure kids dig it but kids aren't the ones shelling out $35,000 for a Jeep.

If Chrysler wants to impress us offer a factory long travel suspension kit, ARB airlockers, hidden winch bumper and load bearing sliders.
Call it the "ORV Edition".

Well the Arcitic is a Sahara, not sure what options it added, but if it is similar to the Liberty version for price and options it isn't much of a stretch to get something a little unique. The Black Ops is a rubi with offroad bumpers, personally I think the price is a little high, but some people like that stuff.

The special editions sell very well, so I would say that the people shelling out the $35k do these unique editions just as much as the kids.

Did it strike anyone else as odd that the Arctic edition package didn't include the engine block heater? You'd think that the one feature specifically designed for cold weather operation would come with it, right?

Thanks for sharing. I promise to stay out of threads for Jeeps of which I am not a fan if you promise to do the same.

I'm not a kid, but I'm well under 30. And I have the arctic JKU. There's more to jeeps than just "off road ability". We aren't living in the stone age, and having some features like the nav, appearance package and heated seats is nice to get.

And if they did offer a long travel suspension, etc... they would probably have a price tag on it so high that people would complain about that.

I live in central Alberta (-30C isn't out of the question here in winter) and haven't had them on my last 2 vehicles. I just run good oil and haven't had issues. Also, of the 3000+ made only 320 came to Canada. So why put it on all, when the ones going to Texas, Florida etc won't need them.

I wish they would just offer the colors on any models but Chrysler is making a killing on these special additions. Charge a fortune for a badge and make a killing doing it. It is working for them obviously so more power to them. Super sizing made McDonalds a fortune. Well at least a bigger fortune. Got to love the science of marketing.

Shoot, CAI companies have convinced many that putting a fancy filter in the same location as a stock one will produce cold air.

Yeah, I'll have a McJeep combo #4, Super sized, with a side of stubby bumper. And hold the auto.

Now that's a good point. It would only be a few dollar option anyway.

Sort of a bummer it isn't a new color. Jeep sure knows how to market to all those "none wavers". Kudos Jeep corporate.
